The Turkish Human Resources, Education, and Health Foundation (TİKAV), established by Akfen Holding, continues to support various segments of society with the “Our Digital Footprint” project. This project provides education to women and their families living in 27 different rural areas across 18 provinces in Turkey, where Akfen Renewable Energy has its power plant investments.
Focusing on the beneficial and correct use of digital platforms, the “Our Digital Footprint” project will continue throughout 2024. In May, the training sessions were held in Giresun’s Dereli and Bulancak districts and in Kahramanlar Village of Trabzon’s Sürmene district.
Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, TİKAV, which was founded by Akfen Holding and aims to support various segments of society through social responsibility projects, continues to support women and their families living in rural areas with the “Our Digital Footprint” project, funded by Akfen Renewable Energy. TİKAV, which raises awareness about the digital world among women living around solar, wind, and hydroelectric power plants in 27 different locations across 18 provinces in Turkey, has completed its May training sessions. In May, the project brought together women in Giresun’s Dereli and Bulancak districts and Kahramanlar Village in Trabzon’s Sürmene district.
During the training sessions, women living in rural areas were educated about the beneficial and correct use of digital platforms, and the legal, social, physiological, and psychological issues that can arise from the unconscious use of these platforms were discussed. In addition, awareness training was provided to both participating women and their family members to prevent cognitive crimes, and psychological, physical, sociological, and cultural issues they might encounter in this context.
Presented as a social responsibility model suited to the requirements of the modern age, the “Our Digital Footprint” project aims to create societal awareness against the challenges brought by the digital age and to raise awareness among women living in rural areas in this digital era with the support of TİKAV and Akfen Renewable Energy. Throughout 2024, the project will continue with seminars to be held at 27 locations owned by Akfen Renewable Energy, educating participants on how to exist safely in the digital world and continuing to raise awareness among women and their families.
